UC President Robert Dynes will launch a statewide inaugural tour of University of California campuses, laboratories and communities on Thursday, Nov. 20 here at UC Riverside. His two-day visit will include an evening reception Thursday for alumni and the community, and events on Friday that include a morning jog and campus meetings.

Dynes, former Chancellor at UC San Diego, took over leadership of the 10-campus university system October 2. He is the 18th UC President of what is acknowledged as the preeminent public university system in the world. In place of a formal inauguration, Dynes wants to start a conversation with California, in a series of inaugural visits that will help him shape and share his vision for the future of the system.

On Friday, at 7:30 a.m. at Pentland Way, President Dynes will jog with athletically-inclined students, faculty and staff of UC Riverside on a route that will meander between buildings and past campus landmarks. The run will last approximately an hour and will end at the Student Recreation Center. Shirts will be provided to the first fifty people that show up.
